Unconsciously eating healthy at The Weight Watchers Feel Good Pop-Up Cafe, Hoxton Square

ww%2520feel%2520good%2520cafe[1]When I told my friends I was going to be dining at a weight watchers pop up restaurant, one of them responded “Weight Watchers?! The last thing I want to do when eating out is watch my weight.” How wrong she was – and her comment showed how much this restaurant was needed, to show that it is possible to eat tasty healthy food without having to think too much about it.

Last week I visited a very different concept of pop-up restaurant known as the Feel Good Cafe operated by Weight Watchers Foods. For eight days, in the heart of hip Hoxton, East London, The Feel Good Cafe is offering a menu of tempting and wholesome dishes from Weight Watchers Foods created exclusively by industry experts. It is evidence that you do not need to compromise on taste or satisfaction when you are watching your weight.

I popped along on the opening day to sample a few of the dishes from the dinner menu.

I was so surprised by the food – not only did it look extremely appetising – it tasted really good! It didn’t feel like I was eating light at all. Getting my five – oops I mean seven a day, never felt so good – and ending on a sweet note with a sticky toffee sponge pudding just did it for me. Furthermore Weight Watchers SAID IT’S OK TO EAT CAKE! You heard it here first.

Every one of the dishes featured on the Weight Watchers menu features at least one ingredient from their fresh food selection. For example, the avocado and chicken salad has a creme fraiche and lemon dressing – the creme fraiche is a weight watchers branded product. The sticky toffee sponge pudding is a ready made pudding by Weight Watchers!

The Feel Good Cafe are ensuring that their diners are catered for throughout the whole day, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner from 8am to 11pm.

I was meant to return this morning to try out their breakfast menu. The only thing is – it meant that I would have had to leave my house at 6:30 in the morning to get there for 8, enjoy breakfast and then make my way to Leicester Square. My alarm buzzed this morning at 5:45 – what did I do? Reset it for my usual wake up time 6:25am – #FAIL!

The best thing about the Feel Good Cafe is that it won’t cost you a penny, as the only way you can pay for the food is through social media, posting a photo to spread the word and one simple message: that you can feel good about the food you eat!

The Feel Good Cafe by Weight Watchers Foods is now open (until May 23rd) at 16 Hoxton Square, N1 6NT. Whether you pop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything is FREE.
