What a lovely evening Sally and I had on Thursday at Diciannove – an Italian restaurant within the Crowne Plaza hotel in Blackfriars that has renamed and recently revamped itself. Usually PR events are much the same. Drinks and food that the proprietors THINK you want to sample thrown at you. Followed by an A4 sheet of paper with the offering and many links to ensure that you post SOMETHING to ensure the restaurant gains coverage. I have to love Roche because they get it right. They don’t make me FEEL like I have to post anything on the Internet or give any coverage to events. I guess their clients just have such an air about them that I feel that I will want to tell people “look here! You must go!”
That’s certainly how I felt sampling the food at Diciannove. Listening to the General Manager tell us about his passion for Diciannove and introducing us to his chefs. It’s also how I felt when Jared – restaurant manager (and formally a member of staff at The Waldorf (I know – like WHOA), Nicholas – Hotel Manager and Joel – Bar Manager invited Sally and I to have a look at the layout of Voltaire – the champagne bar and cigar terrace located in the basement of the grade II listed building complete with amazing vaults. It used to be a palace and a prison!
We were blown away. I think we might have found our favourite night spot.

I was invited to Diciannove’s launch party. Thank you toĀ Diciannove for their kind hospitality and Roche Communications for the invite.

Was a truly fabulous evening. The food was delicious, particularly the zucchini. The Hotel Manager, Bar Manager and Restaurant Manager were very attentive hosts. I cannot wait to return!
